5404 - NPTF Pipe Male Hex Nipple / Connector

The 5404 series of pipe nipples features male NPTF threads on both ends and a hexagonal body for easy tightening. They are widely used in hydraulic applications. 

• Material: Most commonly found in zinc-plated carbon steel for enhanced durability and anti-corrosion properties, but stainless steel (Type 316) variants are also available for maximum corrosion resistance.
• Thread Type: NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel), which are tapered threads designed to provide a mechanical seal without the need for sealant (though it is sometimes used).
• Connection: Male NPTF on both ends.
• Pressure Rating: Working pressure varies depending on the specific size, ranging from 1150 PSI for larger sizes up to 5000 PSI (or even 6000 PSI in some cases) for smaller sizes at 70°F (21°C).
• Sizes: Available in various nominal pipe sizes, including 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1", as well as reducing combinations (e.g., 1/2" male to 3/8" male).
• Standards: These fittings generally reference SAE 140137 specifications and are cross-referenced with other brands like Parker Hydraulics 0101, Parker GG, and Weatherhead C3069.
