- Function: This assembly controls the direction of paint flow, allowing the user to switch between "Prime" (circulating paint back into the bucket to remove air) and "Spray" modes. A worn or stuck valve can cause a lack of pressure at the spray gun or cause paint to leak back through the prime hose.
